Candace Owens was born in Stamford, Connecticut.
She attended the University of Rhode Island for three years to study journalism before leaving to work in New York City. Owens worked in fashion, followed by private equity for four years before launching a website to combat cyberbullying in 2016. The effort was met with unexpected controversy.
As a result of the pressures and criticism her start-up faced, Candace became more active in the world of politics, particularly in the context of social media being used as a method of political manipulation.

His pivotal encounter with Candace Owens’ conservative approach in 2018 sparked his journey toward overcoming the victim mentality, which led to him launching the first BLEXIT chapter in North Carolina the same year. Pierre was hired as BLEXIT’s first employee, and under his leadership, BLEXIT has since become the largest conservative minority grassroots group in the country, producing 47+ state chapters, the BLEXIT Education initiative, BLEXIT Student Movement, thousands of supporters, and national events all over the country.
